A Typical Day at the Barber House

We thought we would give you a glimpse of our daily routine and how things have changed for us in the past few months...

After a few hours of "light sleep" the "feeding frenzy" usually begins around 5-6 a.m. BJ heads to work sometime between 6-8 a.m. depending on when he finally drags himself out of bed. Kristin juggles feeding three hungry babies while getting Jex out the door for school and making sure Kaydence limits her morning kisses for the babies to under 20 or so...She loves to do everything that mommy does and thinks she can handle it all by herself.

Kristin spends her day feeding, bathing, and changing the triplets...she tries to fit pumping somewhere in between. The girls eat about every 3-4 hours which equals about 18-20 bottles a day, while disposing of 25-30 diapers a day...

After getting Kaydence dressed and teeth brushed, Kristin takes a quick shower and gets ready for the day (keep in mind, it's usually about noon by now...)

Jex gets home from school at 2:30, gets a snack, and does his homework.

Dad usually gets home between 4-5 p.m. Then it's a team effort to make dinner, get kids in the bath, brush teeth, do dishes, read stories, and get kids settled and to sleep at a decent hour (all while trying to feed and change three hungry babies).

We like to try and feed all three at the same time around 9-10 p.m. and get them down to sleep. They will usually sleep (off and on) until about 2-3 a.m. and wake up to eat again...then the cycle begins again.

We have been very fortunate to have family members close by that have given up their sleep to come spend the night on some weeknights so that mom and dad can get some good uninterrupted sleep...

It's a lot of work, but it's definitely worth it, and we wouldn't trade our family for anything! It took a bit to adjust, but we've gotten into a really good routine, and things almost seem normal again...Here are a few pictures of our five amazing children.
